The worst part of learning how to cook is asking someone about the timing on a recipe and they reply with “oh, until it’s done.” The best part about learning how to cook is when the clock doesn’t matter anymore, and you know when it’s done.

I get this feeling mostly when baking cookies or cakes. I’ll be in the middle of a conversation or something in another room and just jump up and walk into the kitchen with no explanation at all to take it out of the oven.
