For me personally, that episode was Extremely Not Good
, due to the combination of lighting and extremely rapid jump cuts making it hard to make out anything that was happening (thus leading to a general feeling of detachment from what was supposed to be something intense).

Furthermore, I am now irrationally angry due to that battle plan, which was apparently drawn up by a chicken. It is dark. Should we lights perimeter of fires to possibly see our foes? No. No we should not.

Should we use the advantage of our walls to keep the enemy at bay for as long as possible, as well as denying them corpses to raise? No. No, we definitely don’t want to do that.

What we should do is send out our forces piecemeal onto a wide open plain where our enemy’s superior numerical advantage will lead to a decisive defeat, then retreat to our walls only after we’ve lost the bulk of the people who could man those walls. That’s a Good Plan.

Anyways, it’s really hard to become invested in the stakes of people living or dying when they all deserve to die for being fucking idiots. The Night King should have won. Arya’s cool though.

ACCURATE. I love GOT warts and all but I wish it wasn't so dark. Not morally. Like, literally. Like I turn up the brightness all the way and I still can't see half of what's happening.

I thought certain characters died/lived because I couldn't tell who was who.

Watch it in a completely darkened room, without distraction (like you would a Marvel movie), and it's exceptional. The final bit leading up to and including Arya is perfection.

Agreed, pretty much disliked almost everything outside the end of the Mormonts. Needed better payoff for a villain pinned to be the baddest mofo around. But now I guess that up to Cersei...*eyeroll*

That was an incredibly anticlimactic scene. Theon was almost laughable. I think it was fitting that Arya got the killshot but just getting her into the scene felt like a stretch
