In the absence of nationalizing healthcare and getting entirely rid of HMOs (which unfortunately is probably political suicide until things get even worse than they are now), I think this is about the best we’ll get, and it forces others to address the issue.

You JUST ripped on Pete Buttigieg's zoning plans that disproportionately punished poor non-white homeowners rather than the wealthy landlords they were supposedly aimed at

You’re missing my point. Talking about housing/rent control is *already* part of the political conversation. Warren’s proposal, while flawed, is putting a new item out there that other candidates will now have to address.

Criticizing her proposal for the core neoliberal sin of substitution profit motive for other motives is participating in that political conversation

Look, I want a glorious utopia where everyone does the right thing as much as the next person, but that’s ignoring human nature. I don’t LIKE the fact that a significant chunk of people are driven by accumulating wealth, but until we get a couple generations to change that, well.

I don't care about that utopia, I am criticizing the failings of similar neoliberal projects in the time Warren has served as a senator

I do not want NCLB but for inner city hospitals instead of inner city schools

I don’t want that either, which is why I’m pointing out that there are flaws that need addressing, but again, the main point is that *no other candidate* has a plan to address this. If Warren turns out to be a Dubya and refuses to modify it, fine. I’ll be right there with you.

How do you suggest I act on this other than refraining from criticizing Warren

I’m not saying don’t criticize her! I retweeted your criticism because it’s exactly what we should be talking about! I’m saying don’t throw out the baby with the bathwater until she proves she’s not willing to change her plan to accommodate that criticism.

It’s also okay to say “look, there are problems with this, but it is something where before there was nothing,” which is what my initial point was. Warren is presenting a plan to address this problem, which no other candidate is. Criticize it, but make sure others have a plan too
