We’ve all yelled at the tv/computer screen/handheld when we get frustrated. Microphones are in everything these days. How startling would it be for Mario to turn to the screen, throw up a double middle finger salute, and say “Why don’t you get better at making me jump, scrub?”

I’m just saying, hearing a character yell back “I’M F***ING TRYING, OKAY” would be a fantastic impulse control method.

I remember Splinter Cell co-op played with that idea. Anything the player said into their mic their character also said in the world, with appropriate volume. You could whistle to attract a guard, and players would huddle up and whisper to each other to plan their approaches.
