Sekiro is an absolute triumph of shitty game design masquerading as difficulty. Just a nonstop stream of breaking its own rules to ruin the player’s experience. What an absolute clusterfuck of terrible.
Just had a follow up thought on this - I think you’re absolutely right that it captures the essence of “one cut” fighting against the normal mobs, which is fun and great. I love fighting the normal mooks. It’s when you run into the bullet sponge bosses that it all breaks down.

I completely agree. By far my biggest obstacle so far has been the bosses. I've run into some technical challenges on the camera side of things, but the posture system -- while I think it's generally a cool idea that works well -- breaks down when you get to the sponge-ier foes.
