There is ALWAYS a copy of Good Omens in worse shape than the most beaten up and soup-stained copy you could imagine.https://twitter.com/karenklcheung/status/1096292001824141312 …

I left a copy of Good Omens in the car, and it turned into Freddie Mercury: His Life in His Own Words.

Can I borrow it?

This is suspiciously accurate to how I gained my first copy of Good Omens, friend lent me it - never gave it back...I loved it too much. Friend got another copy and I've now got three different covers in my collection, they multiply when I'm not looking.
-
My much beloved copy was also “borrowed” from a friend. Twenty-three years ago. (He knows. I bought him a new copy. We’re still friends.)

I found mine in a free little library outside on the street. It looks remarkably fine.

I just went to see how my copy is holding up, only to remember that I left it with a friend 2000 miles away.

I love a well read book. The crease down the spine and the fanned out pages. The cover slightly curled, inviting you in. Surprising dog-ears at cliff-hanger moments.
