Believe trans people when they tell you someone is trash. Believe black people when they tell you someone is trash. Believe women when they tell you someone is trash. Believe anyone not in a position of power when they tell you someone is trash because they’re the ones affected.

Well I agree in principle, there are enough exceptions to the idea that I think what your saying is dangerous. Just because someone has power over someone else does not mean they are exterting it and assuming the underdog is always right makes them the group with power

Not trying to incite a fight but I’m specifically thinking about the Israeli/Palestinian conflict where people assume all the blame is on Israel because they are currently more powerful without examining the history and nuance of the conflict. It’s not as one sided as you claim

The current blame belongs 100% with Israel - they are pursuing a racist ideology that is against everything they’ve fought for, and they are in power. The creation of Isreal is the fault of the Allied powers, who drew lines on a map without thinking about who lived there.

All that being said, the people of current Israel have no control over how their country was founded and vice versa. They can only control their own actions, and those actions are oppressive, genocidal, and racist.

So yeah, put the fucking blame on the hard-liners’ shoulders. It’s where it belongs.

I guess my question for you is, if someone says “all Zionists are trash and all Israelis are trash,” and you believe them out of hand, where do you go from there. That is the danger imo. Believing and acting with no context or nuance.

Jesus fucking christ this isn’t a reddit /iamsosmart debate. Of course context is important. The fact you would bring that up undermines any point you think you’re trying to make.
