Just raked out six storm drains and prevented a full garbage bag of plastic from going into the ocean. You can officially adopt (and name!) drains here or just get a rake and get out therehttps://adoptadrain.sfwater.org/

They should gamify this so I could message the adopter of Pinky and the Drain and say ‘hey dude, I got yours, pay it forward,

There are adopt-a-drain programs in many cities and in places where there’s a lot of snow, adopt-a-hydrant (ie dig them out). You could save lives!

One last note on reasons to rake out drains: after months of no rain, a ton of rain means the soil gets totally saturated. Helping street drainage can save basements, garages, cellars, foundations.

Friend just told me u have become a parody of myself which is totally true but otoh our grandparents (or great grandparents, depending) raised Victory gardens and collected string and tin during WWII so cleaning drains or giving to public schools doesn’t seem like a biggie tbqh.

I really like the Donors Giving posts. Inspired me to do the same with a stupid Deadspin comment I made telling people they could email me and for $5 I'd record a video for them (having them donate the $5 to whichever project they want).
