One thing I've noticed in these soccer leagues - conditioning wins games. Almost all of the offenses we've gone up against pressure hard the first half, and then tend to run out of steam in the second. Just have to withstand that initial onslaught of runs.

Because American soccer is all boot and run. We need to teach our kids a more efficient kind of game.

Oh for sure, and a big part of the problem is the parents don't understand how the game is supposed to be played, so they cheer for bad habits and reinforce them.

When I was coaching, I would tell the parents they weren't allowed to sideline coach. Because someone's parent would inevitably scream 'Boot it!' every time his kid touch the ball. Infuriating. And you still see it at the USMNT level.

I'm having to deal with that during my daughters' games right now, but since I'm not the coach I can't tell them to be quiet. It's infuriating.
