Not saying it's anything other than a theory right now, but it is entirely possible to leave a forensic fingerprint via word choice/grammar.

It's much easier to plant one, though. Also, I know everyone on the internet is an expert in everything, but I actually am a linguist and it is literally my job to do natural language processing. The kinds of fingerprint you'd want are not raw lexical choices —

— but rather more subtle things like adverb placement and syntactical aberrations, as well as regionalisms and ESPECIALLY in the kinds of 'errors' someone makes. It's pretty trivial to throw a red herring into a text if you're clever, though.

E.g., Russians fucking up usage of articles when writing English, or mixing UK and American English idioms. "pop" vs. "soda". In a carefully edited, published document, though? That word choice stands out so much it seems unlikely to be anything but a plant.
