Hence my qualifiers in previous posts, I'm well aware of how it can be misconstrued. I would argue that you're engaging in an unfounded optimistic view of humanity, one that proscribes meaning where there is none, and one that ignores the entirety of our recorded history.
2200-2150 BC, 1800-1700 BC, and 1100-1000 BC would be the main ones (also fitting my personal observation that most empires last around 300ish years or so, so we're in for a treat).

the downfall of an empire that persisted in one form or another from 2200 BC to 1200 AD was caused by the accumulation of resources by the elites of Republican Rome. I see.

this is probably a little overly smug but this is some really bad historiography that relies extremely on the conception of empire that began in the classical period and has been iterated upon to the present
