Right. We're *not* currently living in a growing tide of ethno-nationalism, increasing income inequality, loss of traditional blue collar jobs, and an economy poised to hit the shit when one of any number of bubbles finally bursts.

Neither did we have a leader run on a platform of populism and protectionism.

We typically have a couple of populist and protectionist candidates every cycle - Trump AND Sanders were those candidates last cycle. They come out and gain steam because of those issues that Chris mentioned, and others (such as technology, globalization and centralization)

Right, but here's the thing. Trump is breaking that cycle, because he's trying to undermine the entire structure to protect/enrich himself, which *is* what Hitler did. We're not in Kansas anymore, and the normal rules don't apply.

That’s one perspective. Another is Trump thinks other countries have had a free ride on the US taxpayer for 70 years, we’ve spent trillions and 10s of 1000s of military casualties & we’ve had people break our laws and hurt our existing underclass & he’s trying to break that wheel

That's why he's such a staunch advocate for increased taxes on the wealthy, breaking up corporate monopolies, and financial assistance for lower income families, right? I'll hang up and listen.

We haven’t done trust busting since Taft, well AT&T in the 70s. The cutting taxes & telling people to pull themselves up by their boot straps has been standard Republican fare 4 longer than we’ve been alive. I will admit if Donald can make a $ breaking the wheel, he’ll make the $

Do you even pay attention to current events? You do realize, that LITERALLY TODAY, AT&T's merger with Time Warner was approved, right?

And that the FCC, under Trump's appointee, is gutting Net Neutrality, right? And that the Department of Education is trying to shift all funds to charter schools, right? And that he's trying to force utilities into using coal, right?

Second, I’m not goin g to pretend to be well read on net neutrality (despite working in software). I’ll just state my observation that the internet grew and innovated just fine before it was enacted and implemented way back in ...2015.

I would recommend becoming more versed in it.

It’s a complicated issue. And I’ll profess a bias against expanding govt control. But I’ll also point out NN is opposed by a lot of people, such as the Urban League because they feel it will disincentive investment. Just a lot to read, study and digest
