The GOP tax scheme put $1.5 trillion on the nation's credit card—now the House GOP wants to balance the budget on the backs of working families, seniors, and kids. I’ll fight any effort to gut Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and investments in our nation’s economy.https://twitter.com/WaPoSean/status/983411067907911680 …

Your new-found attention to the debt is wondrous. Truly a miracle. Only thing more wondrous is your hypocrisy. Where have you been for nine years?

You have no interest in ending our debt or ending deficit spending. Your interest lies solely in extracting every possible dollar from the 50% of those who still pay taxes. All in the name of “fairness”.

The ONLY reason for a balanced budget amendment now is to provide the rationale for gutting Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid and other safety net measures for the poor and disabled.

The budget needs to be cut, one way or the other. Start with the military, which is preposterously over funded.

Does that include our nation’s seniors that are living on SS that they earned while they worked?
