If this Alabama abortion bill goes into effect, a doctor performing the procedure for a woman who had been raped would go to jail for longer than her rapist. A court decision is not enough, we need a law that gives women an affirmative right to reproductive freedom. Not just for abortion but for access to birth control and the ability to get her tubes tied if she wants.
