The good news: Our bill to ensure back pay for federal workers has been signed into law. The bad news: Americans are still being denied services and federal + contract workers are missing paychecks as the GOP holds the country hostage to Trump’s demands. End this madness!

What good is back pay if someone defaults on a home loan or gets their car repossessed? The grocery store doesn't accept back. How about all of Congress donate their salary to the furloughed federal workers?

Is anyone talking about this? Congress passes bill to reopen government. Trump refuses to sign. Bill becomes law in 10 days under Constitutional procedure. win-win. https://www.washingtonpost.com/outlook/2019/01/11/how-end-government-shutdown-with-neither-side-losing/?utm_term=.c2174490fcc1 …

@SenMajLdr won’t bring the bill up for a vote, so it can’t be passed by Congress. In your scenario, T would veto bill, but the veto overridden by 2/3 majority of congress.

The United States Congress has voted for border security in the past but won’t do so now.. what has changed ? That’s right Trump is President now. 6-8 weeks more of this and your favorite constituency will be begging to help build the wall for free so they can get their jobs back

I agree. What about us contractors. We haven't been paid since December 1 invoices. Is being forced out of business the treatment we can expect for creating jobs?
