The votes are there in the Senate to not only pass a bill to reopen government - but to override a trump* veto. THAT is what McConnell fears. It makes him irrelevant.

After reviewing Senate rules, I’ve found that McConnell CANNOT prevent this bill from coming to the Senate floor if there is a senator who wishes to introduce it. McConnell is breaking the Senate rules. When is anyone going to censure him for it?!
