Consider though that atomization of individuals and individual responsibility for death due to state negligence is a hallmark of neoliberalism “let them die” is the call of a state that sets itself apart from the humans within it. Libertarian “accountability” absolves the state.

So the active distancing the state from accountability for the impacts of society’s / government’s / business’ contribution to our current condition would ideally be managed by blaming individuals instead of a collective or the state’s failures for where we are.
