At the Hidalgo Bridge. A few weeks ago, the Trump Administration essentially stopped families seeking asylum from crossing at this legal point of entry. Left people stranded for days without food and water. So many then crossed the river, were arrested and had children taken.pic.twitter.com/iHCDevS1A1

Border control blocked the bridge used by asylum seekers. Unbelievable.

Yet DHS putting out a statement that people don’t need to enter illegally, they can access legal ports to ask for asylum. This is just sick

@jaketapper So families were stopped at a "port of entry" - left stranded with no food or water and when they crossed elsewhere out of desperation were apprehended and separated. Maybe @SecNielsen is ignorant of this. Has she visited the concentration camps she's operating?

And this was posted just 2 hours ago too. It looks like Trump Admin is splitting hairs here and trying to mislead the public again. 👇 Read the whole threadhttps://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1008467103857463298.html …

So this is how HHS is bypassing the legality of "asylum", they are forcing the people into breaking the law. @MichaelAvenatti hopefully can help congress break through this. At least we found the bottom of the despots barrel. These Democratic Congress people did.

Not only this, @SecNielsen, there are videos of @CBP intentionally kicking over and emptying jugs of water volunteers left. And, in your #Tornillo tent city, these are temps this week. Go spend a week w/ no special accommodation for you.pic.twitter.com/uxuGgcYqqL
