Peter heard the gospel from Jesus himself, in the flesh, and only understood it fully several years after the resurrection. It takes time for the truth to sink in and for the lights to go on. So, be patient with others.

The fact that “God is in control” does not mean that “God is controlling.” In Genesis 1-2, for example, God was in control of the Garden, but He did not control Adam and Eve. When we try to control other people, even for their good, we do that which God himself never did.
