Last year, 18.8% of car sales in California were zero emission vehicles. More than 80,000 (public and shared private) chargers were installed. For comparison, CA now makes up more than 40% of the zero emission vehicle market (ZEV's only made up about 5% of total car sales in US

Great to have the ribbon cut on Unum - next up is the Ruth Asawa fountain, which is expected back on the south side of the square later this year.

Meanwhile, SMART has also been aggressively pursuing additional grant funding. If those opportunities bear fruit, SMART is expected to reach Windsor by 2025 and Healdsburg by 2026. Very good news for our community!

The California Supreme Court ruled in favor of voters by upholding Regional Measure 3 funding. The increase in bridge tolls has been collected since we approved the measure in 2018 - but has not yet been distributed, pending the outcome of this litigation.

Happy birthday to my sweets! She takes my breath away every day - and only half the time because she’s trying to strangle me.

Excited to be joining the Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources federal advocacy committee. Looking forward to bringing Santa Rosa’s voice to national conversations around climate and resilience.

We don't want to miss our discharge window and exceed our storage capacity, but we also want to retain as much water as we can for however long we can.
Overall, a very good problem for us to have this year.

There are very strict rules on when we can discharge, including where we are in the calendar year, the PH balance, temperature, and dissolved oxygen content of the laguna.

With more rain in the forecast, staff will evaluate how and when to discharge some of that treated and clean water into the laguna to ensure we don't exceed our capacity and have accidental/unintended discharges.

During the recent storms, our treatment plant has been processing 48 million gallons of water per day (our average is around 19 million per day).

In normal years, we use 100% of our recycled water, sending about 2/3rds of it to the geysers to create clean energy that we use to power our municipal buildings. The other 1/3rd is typically used by our agricultural users and city parks.

Show this thread
Santa Rosa's recycled water storage level is currently at 181% of our average capacity for this time of the year - currently we are at about 1.1 billion gallons of recycled water in storage. The system can hold 1.4 billion gallons.

Live comedy is coming back to downtown Santa Rosa! I got a sneak peak at the Barrel Proof Lounge as it gets ready to open where Three Disciples used to be on Mendocino Avenue - looking forward to stand up shows, trivia nights, and open mics in the near future.

A few maps on where the last few days of rain have left us - locally and across the state. Lakes Sonoma and Mendocino are still below the historical averages. Lake Sonoma is still below where it was one year ago. Bring on more rain! (but I'm over the wind)

It’s raining cats and dogs! Reports of wind-related damages - downed trees and about 12,000 people without power. Thanks to our first responders and city staff working through the night.

I had a few people reach out about sand bags ahead of the next wave of rain - they are self-fill (free) at the municipal services center at 55 Stony Point Rd.

Our efforts to give blood were 🕶️ in vein 🕶️. Our local blood bank needs donations - so a few of us jumped into the chairs today. It takes less than an hour and it means the world to someone in need. To give, make an appointment at vitalant.org

The NWS has issued a flood watch and wind advisory for SR and parts of the North Bay from tonight until tomorrow afternoon. Flooding may be possible near streams and rivers, or where debris has clogged drains. People near the Glass Fire burn scar should be especially cautious.

I was honored to receive the first ever Michael Allen “Leading for Labor” award from the North Bay Labor Council for advancing policies to fight poverty and economic inequality. Much of my work as Mayor was aimed at helping middle class and low income families during the pandemic

I have two years left on my term as a Councilmember and look forward to continuing to work hard for the people I work for, and to provide whatever support the next Mayor needs. If they are successful, our City will be successful.
Again, from the bottom of my heart, thank you.
