As pointed out over a year ago, "it's a pandemic of bureaucracy."

Today: CDC Director Walensky tells Congress that no RCTs were conducted to determine if masks prevent COVID because it was too obvious that they worked. “I’m not sure anybody would have proposed a clinical trial because, in fact, there wasn’t equipoise to the question anymore.”

With my birthday approaching, my kids asked what I wanted... I showed them this picture of what every hockey-playing dad could ever ask for. Grass stains and phone clip not included.

Honorable men can have strong disagreements and not hate each other. Iron sharpens iron. If we are to solve America's greatest challenges, we must strive to resolve issues and conflict in a way that breeds workable solutions.

With the rapid progress of AI and Big Tech reinforcing distorted realities on social media, nothing is liberating about living in an illusionary world dictated by an algorithm computed by other flawed human beings. Being the co-creator of my own reality is a more desirable life.

My daughter asked me why I've been working out so much. I told her because I want to stay healthy for a long time and fit so I can keep up with them. So this morning, I have a workout buddy. #dadlife #leadbyexample

Last year, it was reported the Chinese government set up unauthorized 'police stations' in U.S. cities, and now they are spying on America with a satellite balloon deep within our borders... This is a brazen violation of our national sovereignty and security.

Celebrating 10 years of service at St. Mary's Ryken. It never gets old helping others in our communities, especially the youth, toward their goals to be successful and discover their pursuit of happiness. I'm grateful for and enjoy the opportunities given to me working at SMR.

I tweeted this on day 1 of the 15 days to slow the spread. Unfortunately it aged too well.

The greater harm to society is the public’s unquestioning acceptance of the unchecked authority of governments to force private behavior and disrupt economies. When this is over, I fear FDR’s internment of Japanese-Americans is going to look like a “light touch.” twitter.com/RepThomasMassi…

There appeared to be no attempt to de-escalate and no attempt to simply detain and make an arrest (if warranted). I'm assuming here, but looks like they had a personal vendetta against Tyre. Completely unacceptable and disgusting. Praying for justice for Tyre.

Remembering my days training in the police academy, we had constant de-escalation training while also ourselves and partners level when it came to use-of-force. Watching the #TyreNichols video, these five officers clearly all failed at that. How did they even pass the academy?

It is unconscionable what happened to Tyre Nichols. The actions of the five officers on January 7 were vile and showed a callous disregard for Tyre's life. My heart is heavy for Tyre's family and friends grieving his death.

The intolerance of those who claim to be promoting tolerance was on full display by the media and sports pundits with Ivan Provorov this past week. Hockey (as is all sports) is for everyone; including those who may not agree with you socially or politically.

All that matters is if someone wants to play the sport, they have the opportunity to enjoy the sport. Playing sports provides a release of the stresses of life. Injecting social and political causes creates more anxiety and stress into what is supposed to be what it is - a game.

Coaching both boys and girls ice hockey over the past 14 years (including players who consider themself as part of the LGBT community), I never placed identity, race, religion, political beliefs, etc., as a factor for whether anyone could play the sport or not.

We were college kids playing against the top professional athletes in the world. My teammates, coaches & I maximized our shared & individual experiences & talents to win the gold. We were motivated & disciplined. We embraced every challenge we faced. Competence over credentials.

The wisdom and selfless sacrifice will not be forgotten. We are a better country because of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. quote, ""Returning hate for hate multiplies hate, adding deeper darkness to a night already devoid of stars. Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate, only love can do that."

Congratulations to everyone who made it through the week without carelessly leaving classified documents around unsecured.
