Chris great post but can you please touch on whether smart screen is required for the web content filter to work? The MSFT announcement mentions Smart Screen, as does the last screen shot in your post, but you don’t show what happens when using a browser that doesn’t have SC on.

Thank you, Joe! Network Protection should take over if SmartScreen is unavailable according to docs. Not sure if I just forgot to add the screenshot or didn't test it, though. I'll follow up asap.https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/security/threat-protection/microsoft-defender-atp/web-content-filtering#prerequisites …

Errr details on Cyren licensing. (I can only find prices for email or DNS filtering) M365-E5 is listed as prerequisite, but I suspect it doesn't depend on advanced compliance and AIP..

Any MDATP license + Cyren should suffice for web content filtering. Unfortunately, I do not have further details about Cyren licensing at the moment.

Chris, can you go into more detail on what you learned for the licensing? Also is Enterprise E5 required or can E3+"Identity & Threat Protection" work (as that is minimum way to get MDATP+MCAS
