  2. So let me get this straight - the non-existent threat of “critical race theory” has caused Texas to mandate the teaching of Holocaust denial? This seems to be getting A LITTLE out of hand.

  3. 4 days. 60 miles. And I couldn’t ask for a more picturesque end - sunset at Jacobs Beach in Guilford. Thanks to all the people I met along the way and to the big crowd that met me at the end.

  4. This violence should be condemned at the highest levels by all parties in Lebanon, and should come with a commitment to pursue real accountability for the explosion. I applaud the LAF for restoring order, as the Lebanese people shouldn’t have to live in fear.

  6. It’s silly but I do this each year - here’s what I’ve been listening to during this year’s Walk Across Connecticut. It’s an odd mix, I know.

  7. Liz just stopped her car to chat with me. She moved here from Massachusetts and she LOVES Connecticut. She runs a vocational training school and she wanted to talk about lowering the cost of advanced degrees. So important!

  10. A gorgeous country road in North Guilford. 10 minutes from the beach. 15 minutes from Yale. 2 hours to either NYC or Boston. Connecticut has it all.

Here’s what I told my town hall last night about why I walk across the state each year. I hope you’ll give it a quick watch.

In an economy that gives power to workers, not just employers, people quit their jobs all the time to start better jobs. Economic mobility is a good thing. Not a bad thing.

The NRCC runs THE most abhorrent text messaging program. It’s shameful. Pre-check too of course. Can you imagine sending this to people who support you?

I ended the walk today in Durham/Guilford. I asked Durham Republican First Selectwoman Laura Francis to put together a diverse table of parents to talk about the challenges facing our kids and parents right now. It was a refreshing, honest conversation.

They key to walking across the state in a week is taking care of your feet. I tape them up every morning, wear anti-blister socks, and keep faith in my trusty 12 year old Nike Alfords.

I’m going to try an Instagram Live right now from a busy road with very little shoulder and it’s too late you can’t talk me out of it.

If you’ve never visited the historic district in Durham, you’re missing out. Few bigger collections of Revolutionary-era homes, and you can follow the footsteps of George Washington’s marches through Connecticut.

Abigail came and walked with me for a mile in Middletown. She is really concerned about the health LGBTQ kids in our schools. I told her it’s an issue I’m paying more and more attention to. I promised to follow up with a plan of action.
