I support the real 2nd Amendment, not the imaginary 2nd Amendment. And the real #2A isn’t absolute. It allows Congress to wake up to reality and ban these assault rifles that are designed for one purpose only - to kill as many people as fast as possible.

Yes....what I wrote. Did you read what I wrote thru or just go back and select out this one paragraph...which is EXACTLY a point I made in my tweet. It's never that simple - unless the NRA told you it was - not to mention that this is not how SCOTUS decisions actually work.

And for the record, those are literally supreme Court rulings. I don't understand what your getting at?!

That - literally - majority writing & dissenting opinions also enter the law and are available by courts to interpret down the road. SCOTUS did not identify an unconditional 'right' to own as many of any kind of gun as people want no matter the conditions/context in Heller

Did you read my last response to you? And Scalia was wrong - this quote directly contradicts many others by the Founders; the original Authors. And about this there is no doubt. And Scalia was always happy to 'reinterpret' depending on his prevailing Sponsors

First Amendment rights ARE limited. (Obscenity, Time Place And Manner etc..) Just like every Amendment. We limit when necessary. It's necessary.

Are ARs commonly owned? Yup. Potentially most popular rifle in the US. Are they used more in defense than crime? Yup. It's among the least used in crime. Does your argument have a leg to stand on? Nope. Is an AR even an assault weapon? Nope.

Let me guess, if you wear special decoder glasses then you can see the part written in invisible ink that comes after "shall not be infringed" when it says "Just kidding, you can ban, prohibit, and do anything you want when it comes to arms"

The 2a was about keeping your ability to protect your freedoms. If you cant do that, then you really arent free. This is why it is in big caps in constitution. The 2a is our ability to protect our ability to have the rest of our freedoms

The 2nd amendment was about putting down slave rebellions, which was why it begins with “a well regulated militia being necessary.” It was NEVER about resisting tyranny.
