So is Subway “respectfully requests” wording regarding open carry before or after the change? That is what Is on their site. With all due respect, that doesn’t sound like a ban.

The notice was a "request," not a "rule." (Read it again). I can tell you that most gun owners, if asked to leave a premises if they OC, would turn around and just leave. They would simply take their business elsewhere, because that hurts the business, not them.
