In 19 states it is still legal for a teacher to discipline a student by striking them with a paddle. And guess what? In those 19 states, black students are TWICE as likely to be paddled as white students. It’s time to ban this barbaric practice.

it's almost like every authorized form of violence is used more against black people. Maybe the problem isn't police, it's that people - of all colors! - are prejudiced against black people.
