Time to make the paid family leave push
Next week Congress needs to start considering policies that will protect workers (especially hourly workers) in the case of large scale economic disruptions. One missed paycheck for a low wage worker who has to stay home because their kid's school closes could be disastrous.

federal law that makes it illegal not to pay someone if their doctor has called for time off.

Gotta be a bigger more complicated plan than that. Companies would just lower wages even further to make up for it.

Is Connecticut doing anything at the state level? Just interested in knowing if there have been any plans put in place for this. Thanks!

I believe Rosa Delauro is working on an emergency paid sick leave bill if the state steps into a public health crises....I also learned at a candidate meet and greet tonight we have more tests in the state for COVID19. Hope that helps!
