    If my understanding of history is right (I hope I am wrong), then this means a fictitious cartoon character has a bridge named after it before a woman or person of color has.

    The Ned Flanders plaque is cast in bronze and features a bas relief of Ned Flanders waving next to his catchphrase “Hi-Diddly-Ho, neighborinos!”; at his elbow is Matt Groening’s signature.
    By naming the Flanders Bridge after Ned Flanders, we will not only be honoring the cultural phenomenon that is , but also the creative spirit that has animated Portlanders for so long and will continue to do so long into the future.

    For so many Afghans fleeing now this is a second journey into exile, they have already endured being refugees once before. More pain on top of the heartbreak

    I left my whole life, my home in order to continue to have a voice. Once again,I am running from my motherland. Once again, I am going to start from zero. I took only my cameras and a dead soul with me across an ocean. With a heavy heart, goodbye motherland. Until we meet again
