Lower Manhattan has been on the frontlines of many of our City’s greatest struggles, and COVID-19 has made these hard times even harder. Local politics matter now more than ever. I'm running for City Council to fight our systemic challenges and finally give our neighbors a voice.

Following the devastating news of the mass shooting at a Lunar New Year celebration in California, we have been in communication with NYPD. They are on alert and there are currently no identified threats for NYC. Counter terrorism resources are on standby.

Every industry in America does exit interviews and so should our government. We face a historic personnel crisis & we need to know why people are leaving. My new bill will make sure we know what it takes to keep the best of the best in public service.

Thank you for presenting KK Discount and 47 Division St Trading with certificates of recognition for their decades long contributions to Chinatown. What a thrill to see two immigrant businesses honored for their grit snd sacrifice! #SupportChinatowns

The treatment of organizers and my colleagues by COs on the steps of City Hall can only be a glimpse of how they treat those in their charge when nobody is looking. Their defense of solitary confinement is as disgusting as their behavior. We must pass Int 549 and end solitary now

Things getting pretty chaotic. COBA members preventing the pro-bill crowd from speaking at this point with their chants.

As a member of this org, I'm proud of for supporting passage of #NoMore24 (Intro 175), sponsored by in the City Council. And as a member of other (larger and more internally complex) orgs, I will keep working to help get those orgs on board as well.

We support Intro 175, which will end the 24-hour workday for home care workers. We stand in solidarity with the countless workers who have suffered because of this loophole. Call or email your NYC Council Member & urge them to support this bill: bit.ly/no-more-24-act #NoMore24

My mother & mother-in-law depended on home healthcare-at times needing 24 hr care. 24 hour shifts, consecutive 24 hour shifts are wrong. It compromises the level of care and the health of the worker. I support Intro 175 for the workers sake and for the patients sake. #NoMore24

Thank you for advocating for Intro 175 to end the 24 hour workday for home attendants. So many Latina women work in this industry and are forced to work these inhumane hours. It destroys their health and their lives. They deserve better #NoMore24

As soon as permits are issued, developers forget about the community give-backs they agreed to provide. I’ve inherited a lot of these deals from my predecessor. Our community is sick of being short changed and we’re committed to seeing these promises through.

BMCC helped my mom, as an immigrant, and my brother, as somebody who was formerly incarcerated, get access to an affordable higher education. CUNYs step up to help marginalized communities advance their careers, and now it’s on the city to fill in the financial gaps. #FundCUNY

Our community is tired of vacant storefronts being filled by VC-backed apps that mistreat workers and compete with bodegas. Excited to introduce legislation with to crack down on this exploitive industry!

Join me & @ChrisMarteNYC tomorrow + colleagues for a press conference on Dark Stores on bills we are introducing. #DarksStores such as @Jokr_US + @Gopuff are micro-fulfillment centers that depend on delivery workers. Our bills will protect consumers, workers & regulate centers.
