Let this be a wake up call to everyone on the sidelines. Today’s action sends a powerful message about Florida’s governor: that he does not respect the democratic process or checks on his power, and he will stop at nothing to eliminate anyone who dares to challenge his dogma.

State Attorney is a friend & public servant who has spent his career upholding justice. Today Ron DeSantis did more than suspend a duly elected official, he suspended democracy in FL. When he couldn’t beat Andrew at the ballot box, he took the path of a dictator.

Great news!! The racist congressional map jammed through by Ron DeSantis and his cronies has been declared unconstitutional by a Republican-appointed judge!

BREAKING: FL state trial judge Layne Smith will block the DeSantis map in North FL for 2022, ordering a restored FL-05 be used this year. FYI: Judge Smith served in Rick Scott’s admin, was appointed to the county bench by Scott, elevated to the 2nd Circuit by DeSantis.

Proud of my dad’s firm for leading this case. They took down Goliath once & they will do it again. I know dad is smiling down on his law partners today as they carry on his legacy. Let the battle for democracy begin!

Powerful and moving testimony from my friend Senator . Watch this, and ask yourself: does this law create a more loving world? Does this result in greater inclusion or exclusion, harmony or division, danger or safety? We know the answer.

Judge Jackson is a superb choice to serve on the US Supreme Court. Her credentials are impeccable, and her experience growing up in Miami will bring an even greater level of pride to our state. Proud Floridian. Proud American.

I’m proud to announce that I am nominating Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to serve on the Supreme Court. Currently serving on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, she is one of our nation’s brightest legal minds and will be an exceptional Justice. WhiteHouse.gov/KBJ

Ron DeSantis is threatening to veto congressional maps unless they specifically target and discriminate against Black voters in north and central Florida. We need to call this what it is: Racism.

“Ron DeSantis signaled he would veto any congressional redistricting maps that left intact Democrat Al Lawson’s North Florida congressional district, a seat that has for decades performed for Black voters but has come under attack from the governor.” subscriber.politicopro.com/article/2022/0

Kristen and I are thankful for Stephanie Murphy’s service as our Congresswoman for the last five years. We know that her legacy and impact will continue to be felt in our Central Florida community for many years to come, regardless of what form her leadership takes.

I've decided not to seek another term in Congress. Serving Central Florida has been the honor of my life, but it's also been incredibly challenging for my family and me. This was not an easy decision, but it is the right decision. Thank you for everything.

Too often, our justice system has failed to live up to its name. I’m glad today was not one of those days. Even though this verdict will not bring back Ahmaud Arbery, we can take some comfort knowing that his killers will be held accountable for the harm they caused.
