"Homeopathic products can be contaminated by pesticides, heavy metals and prescription drugs. They can contain radically different doses. They discourage the use of real medicine and they are a waste of money. Finally, they dull critical thinking..."https://twitter.com/CoyneoftheRealm/status/1033659858174861312 …

Let's put your lack of rational thought in perspective, shall we?
@Gorskon quoting@bengoldacre does the job so neatly. https://twitter.com/gorskon/status/1022541534267432960 …pic.twitter.com/1LcAZEGOXZ

You missed my point by a mile. Let me type it slower this time. Regardless of efficacy, the negative side effects of homeopathy don't come close to those of pharmaceuticals. That isn't the hill I would choose to die on in efforts to discredit homeopathy.

@gorskon Watch James Randi try, and fail, to get any effect from a homeopathic product. He takes the whole bottle in one go: https://youtu.be/c0Z7KeNCi7g -
I'm not saying homeopathy works. Not at all. I'm only speaking to the negative side effects. Those are exceedingly rare.

Everything in life has a risk/benefit ratio. Exercise has risks but not exercising has greater risks. Eating has a choking risk but not eating has obviously greater risks. homeopathic remedies who’s manufacturing is unregulated and has risks such as contaminated teething rings

Homeopathic “remedies” don’t do anything. Period. Therefore not doing anything they have no side effects (they have no effect other than delusion) The side effect that some deluded folk chose homeopathy over standard medical treatment, suffering unnecessarily.

This would only be true if homeopathy actually cured anything at all. It does not. It is 200-year old snake oil. It is a lie and a fraud and can delay sick people from real useful treatments, increasing costs for everyone concerned.
-
In other words the risk to benefit ratio of homeopathy is precisely zero. Despite risks and side effects of real medicine, that ratio is positive.

Well, I guess if you look at it solely in economic terms, not treating at all would be even cheaper. Save the money of sugar pills and just let nature take its course. Side effect of this would be a boost to the kid sized coffin market.

The Catholic Church has caused far fewer deaths in space exploration than NASA.

Now that's funny!
