After less than 24 hrs in office, has issued an executive order to expand Medicaid to 70,000. Mainers have waited more than a year for Medicaid expansion. Gov. Mills took action on Day 1. That’s the difference of a Democratic governor.

It’s a new day in Maine. As Governor said in her Inaugural address last night, “when a family, a community, a state believe in each other, help each other, love each other, great things can happen.”

Maine is our home. Tomorrow we rise before the dawn — like the mist over the Sandy River — and seek adventure, with hope in our hearts and love in our souls for the brand new day. To all of you, and to the people of Maine, I say, welcome home. Thank you.

For the first time in a long time for low-income Mainers, the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t an oncoming train. It’s a ray of hope.

I really can't believe we're finally here—a new day for Maine. Like so many others, I'm amazingly grateful to have been part of the effort that led us to this day. Not that you need it, but best of luck to you, —today and in the years to come. – At Augusta Civic Center

Some people are good at making it not worth your while to argue with them—which can be a useful skill. But I wonder how many of them operate under the delusion that they're skilled at *persuasion*, which is a totally different and indeed somewhat opposite phenomenon.

Following this ACA ruling in Texas, the next test for Senate Dems is whether they reject a deal with McConnell to approve another group of Trump judges before the end of the year. You don't get to help confirm bad judges and then howl about their predictably bad rulings.
