I'm a little surprised that daylight isn't a test criteria.

Not a need for an uncrewed test flight on a proven rocket. DM-1 is to test post-orbit insertion thruster firings and phasing to the ISS of Dragon 2, life support systems, automated ISS docking, and reentry and landing systems. Nothing there precludes launching at night.

Is there any more clarity on DM-2/crewed Dragon other than June 2019?

Nope. And there definitely will not be until DM-1 is complete and SpaceX moves toward the In-Flight Abort test. Both are critical before DM-2 can fly.
