Laws should be changed so that Educators, Police, Doctors, Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Day care workers, etc.... can report without fear of legal lawsuits information about mental issues.
The professionals you name are legally REQUIRED to report these issues. The mandate protects them as long as they provide honest & timely assessment.
And there should be repercussions if they don't. Timely is very important. I have many friends that are educators, and they are not required to report a snowball being tossed at someone. But there are patterns that can be seen and need to be addressed.

My thoughts are the database, info input, failure to report, & “privacy laws”’play a major part in keeping info that would keep those who should not possess guns out of the database. Too many felons are jailed & released for possession when they should be jailed permanently
You tell @realDonaldTrump& @VP that nothing less than full support of due process & 2A are acceptable. Without 2A all other rights ultimately fall. I actually read/watch the news, so don't tell me about this strong support when I can easily see otherwise.

Middle ground is allowing weapons to remain that are used for self protection like hand guns, shot guns and bolt action rifles. It is also doing away with high magazine limits and assault style weapons. It is also background checks and mental health evals. What is your middle?
