For the second day in a row, Israel is facing a barrage of rocket attacks fired from Gaza. Schools and businesses in southern Israel and even in Tel Aviv have been forced to close to ensure the safety of civilians.

The United States steadfastly supports Israel and we should urge de-escalation on all sides. Continued violence only harms civilians and places the possibility of peace further out of reach.

Senator, got any thoughts on Israel initiating this round of violence? On the 2 dozen Palestinians who have been killed so far? On the thousands of Palestinians Israel has killed in recent years? On Israel's suffocating blockade on Gaza? This is really out of touch w/reality!
