While Saudi Arabia has long been an important U.S. partner in the Middle East, our shared interests should not require us to abandon our values, which include our commitment to a free press, human rights, and the rule of law.

I will reserve my final judgement until I get all the facts, but there is mounting evidence of a brutal murder of a journalist living in the United States by the Saudis.

Seventeen days after the disappearance of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khasshogi inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul, the explanation by Saudi officials that he was killed in an impromptu ‘fist fight’ is not credible.

We should have a classified briefing and, depending on the facts of this case, we may need to re-assess our relationship w/ Saudi Arabia, including planned arms sales, our ongoing support for the war in Yemen, and other aspects of our partnership with the Kingdom.

A United States resident working for a United States newspaper murdered by a United States "ally". On your watch, on your hands.

Yeah, but what if no one shares the “facts”? It seems that no member of congress is being given any data at all. Unprecedented. And we, okay, the @GOP how many hearings about fucking Benghazi?

accurate factual & no evidence as yet to suggest otherwise! So who in there right mind would #trust Saudi Arabia now! #Money can apparently now buy #murder and #innocence if you are prepared to lie! Not exactly comforting imo?

9/11 should have been a turning point in our relations with Saudi Arabia, but instead we (checks notes) went to war with Iraq. Sure, our our 1% are BFFs with them, but it’s time to stop funding their war in Yemen and giving them passes on being a human rights shitshow.

And yes, we pursued Al Qaeda in Afghanistan and (thanks Obama and SEALTeam Six) killed bin Laden, but on behalf of too many Wounded Warriors and dead Iraqi citizens, we never should have been in Iraq. I’m not pushing for more war; just sanction the fuck out of KSA. It’s overdue.

Typical politician, how can you reserve judgement. For 2 1/2 weeks they said he left on his own. Now its he got in a fist fight and jist disapeared while there were 15 Saudis and a bone saw. Get a backbone! You know what happened, weak sellout politicians is what we have.

Also, wasn't the "interrogation" a trap? Turkey newspaper reported #Kashoggi had come previously to the consulate for his wedding license and they told him to come back? And then cleared out the consulate on that day?
