    But if you read the docs LAs really really want Part6 of TMA2004 enabled. Then at no cost and no yellow lines MCLs can be enforced. (LA gets fines!) This is national a benefit. We need Civil Enforcement for a range of minor traffic infringements.

    Double yellow lines in MCLs is NOT the answer (as they'd need to be everywhere). Either of Civil Enforcement, or getting Police to act such that compliance reaches an acceptable level. You could do a lot of enforcement for the cost of admin & engineering to install double yellows

    I requested police driver 2 move his vehicle stopped on crossing zig-zags! In London 2 children killed after lorry passed van stopped on approach to Zebra. Danger obvious. Who most to blame? If police need education what hope is there? Regent St crossing anomaly (no zig-zags).

    Even 'just' a 30min service from Foxton (Cambridge side of LC ) to meet trains (& from Barrington?) to Addenbrooke's (CBC) in advance of Cambridge South stat., would be a huge benefit. No need for 2 cars if working at CBC, and currently just £1 on to City (if no thro' ticketing!)

    From Camborne, I'd think it will meet with KGX line, under M11 & join LST line at Shepreth branch jnct N of Shelford. Route chosen most expensive, & slowest? but just a little more than twice A428 Black Cat cost. Which is best for CO2 neutral world? Not flat 4 Freight. Earthworks

    I'm told that limit is not legally enforceable. I've seen taxi at nearly 40. Private land, owned by... They also required their agents to install the barrier as they own that bit of CGB, leased to County?

    Wimpole is a lovely place but getting there from Cambridge by bike (done it several times) or bus is a nightmare. Perhaps the money spent on that huge new car park would have been better spent improving access for those without a car?

    So what happens with those small wheels when you hit a pothole like this?

    Could the man in pic stop safely from 15mph in the same distance as someone on a fixie? (let alone a policeman on a mountain bike with disc brakes?)

    A wonderful Press Release by Railfuture re Northern Rail. Could easily be adapted for much of the chaotic state of the nation.

    I'd heard that, as of a while ago some cheap sat-navs show it as 'other road' (blindly "turn left in 50 yards")? Not sure what insurance companies say. I heard iof a case of someone who hit a rising bollard and company refused to pay

    But note that in the attached pic even a hard segregated lane has to have double yellows (&tick marks) to reduce obstruction by motors. Less clutter & MUCH easier enforcement of cycle lanes with Part 6 of Traffic Management Act2004, IF only enabled by Gov!

    More people killed on roads in WWII than in London Blitz (9k+ in 1940?) {no reliable figures?}

    GREENs oppose...We do need 2 reduce light pollution. Perhaps 'interactive' lighting off-peak making it safe for those who walk or cycle, but OFF when empty (easy with LEDs, a few detectors & a ?) Light huge amount less that from floodlit playing areas or Mway jncts.

    Funding not even enough to establish full costs +benefits, of rebuilding lines originally proposed prior to election. Many more than these 2 needed (+HS2). Compare with ginormous (Billions) cost of failed Smart Motorways? Need to reduce CO2 means more trains & less cars & planes.

    Does that mean a return to half timbered 'Tudor' or mock 'Victorian' or even 'Gothic Revival' with energy ratings of 'D'?
