Big thanks to and for publishing my essay about three of civilization's greatest ideas - Critical rationalism, praxeology, and constructor theory are not widely known. Let's change that.

How to make your life exponentially better: - lift weights 3-5 times a week - walk 10k steps daily - eat a nutritious diet - sleep 7-8 hours per night - quit boozing - read a book every month - learn a new language - forgive people - help others - stop using crystal meth

There's no fundamental difference between colonizing other continents on Earth and colonizing other planets in the solar system. Both require knowledge and innovation for the colonizing people to survive.

The history of civilization is marked by literally awesome expressions of newly created knowledge. If we weren’t so used to them, each would be mind-blowing as an innovation in its own right: -language -division of labor -cities -scientific method It's hard not to be grateful!

Rejecting error-correcting mechanisms, such as discourse, is the opposite of virtuous. It is a violation of one of the most fundamental moral principles we know of. Without error-correction, progress is impossible.

I published an essay, "Three Revolutionary Ideas", on Medium - I briefly introduce the history and content of critical rationalism, praxeology, and constructor theory. Much more to say, but I like concision. Errors are my own. Enjoy The Big Three! :)

The discomfiting truth (to some) is that such data can't be used when comparing economic theories—one can always find data to support one's theory, since the economy is so complex. But that’s ok! Empiricism is false, and only one economic theory on offer is a good explanation.

I could be wrong, but I think that most replication crises are caused by bad philosophy of science. For example, a crisis can stem from prioritizing data accumulation over conjecturing explanations. Relatedly, without competing hypotheses, there can be no crucial experiment.

Ahead of the March for Life - my article about abortion, culture, and government has been published with Merion West - Culture cannot be improved by top-down legislation. Only creativity can do the job.

Indeed. Never blindly accept any idea, no matter how authoritative the source "seems" to be. Truth is not determined by authority. Always judge an argument, an idea, a narrative by its merits alone.

A culture that values free speech is far more important than a government law whose intention is to defend it.

The power of words is amazing. 'School' does not equal 'education'. 'Progressive ideology' does not equal 'ideas that foster progress'. A predecessor to the U.S. Department of Defense was called, far more accurately, the Department of War.

Technically speaking, even the free market doesn't solve problems--only *people* do. And in order to solve problems, people require freedom. So the free market is a prerequisite for problem-solving, and people are the problem-solvers.

Reductionism is a great Enemy of Progress - nice to hear good folks explaining why Plus, it's so much cooler that explanations don't have to be reductive - imagine the possibilities!
