I’m convinced that we start putting our armor on around as a means of coping with what we perceive to be a complex & dangerous world. By the time we arrive at “middlescence,” solidly in , maybe it’s time we start disrobing that armor?

Well, that's one form of vehicle, Chris, but the other form (your face/body) is the key point of this post. The fact we distract ourselves with the exterior vs the interior. At the end of the day, the interior of your vehicle (car or body) better be comfortable. Have a great day!

I love the humanity of Sara Lawrence-Lightfoot. While this book is nearly 12 years old, it captures some of the vulnerability & bewilderment that people over 50 felt during the Great Recession that might be even further amplified by these pandemic times.

Ultimately, we must realize that time (unlike money) is not a renewable resource. And leisure is not something you do once the work is done. The work is never done, which is why we must schedule our leisure first. It’s the only way to slow down life.
