2. From July 11 to August 2, WHO experts came to China to conduct preparatory consultations on scientific cooperation in tracing the origin of the novel coronavirus.
3. Following the resolution on COVID-19 response adopted at the 73rd WHA, experts of China and the WHO formulated the China part of a global scientific cooperation plan on origin-tracing.
4. In his speech at the general debate of the 75th Session of the UN General Assembly, President Xi Jinping reiterated that China will actively participate in global scientific research on the origin and transmission routes of the virus.
5. On October 30, as agreed by the two sides, Chinese experts and WHO international professionals held a video conference on the traceability of COVID-19.
The Chinese experts outlined the progress of work in the areas of population, environmental, molecular, animal tracing as well as cold-chain transmission pathways of COVID-19.
6. The WHO experts thanked their Chinese counterparts for their excellent work on the traceability of COVID-19, and briefed them on global scientific research in this field.
7. China will continue playing an active role in the global efforts to study the traceability and transmission routes of COVID-19 and working with the international community to contribute to global virus tracing and anti-epidemic cooperation.
