This ignores the fact that #China’s regime has demonstrated time and again that it’s shameless and doesn’t learn. How many various lab accidents have they had? Many. The only pressure that works is to hit them in their wallets. Only by imposing costs can we deter further mishaps.
The spirit of the WHO investigation should not be “China must pay” but “China must act”. The WHO investigation is pointless: they don't want to find anything; they won't. Beyond that investigation, though, it is important to establish guilt because we are dealing with a malevolent player that has taken advantage of the situation it has created. China must pay!
