Megan's first egg (of 3) hatched last night/this morning.

#Night time #ritual for #Henna and her #toddlers...

These 'toddler' chicks are quite independent from their Mama now. They still like to tuck underneath her at night though...

After #days of #rain, a little #sunshine is so #welcoming for us all.

#Nothing #better than #watermelon on a #hot #day...

#Chilling out #inside is made more #fun when there's #a place to #jump up!

#Brava and her #five #chicks are #enjoying #exploring the #outside.

#Henna and her four 10-day-old #chicks hanging out in their #run. Her #youngest didn't #survive and #died after 4 #days because Henna kept #stepping on the #tiny #runt. We tried to #rescue her but it still couldn't make it. The chicks already know how to #enjoy #dirt-bathing.

#Henna #hatched out 2 of #Megan's #eggs very #early this #morning.

#Henna's #first #chick #hatched out this #afternoon.

#Henna is #broody too, #hopefully she'll be #able to #hatch out some #chicks #soon.

The six #chicks are learning to #eat #watermelon.

Sadly, #Megan's #white #chick, the last one to #hatch out 2 days ago, didn't survive. We found it wedged in a corner of the box this morning. 😭

4 days after the first chick & a day after the 7th/last chick hatched, the family is grazing on the lawn.

Then we put it under Brava so she can raise her 7th chick. What team work!

#Brava hatched out 6 #chicks in total, leaving the other 4 #eggs #unhatched. She's a great #Mama for showing the chicks how to eat the #crumbs.

Brava managed to hatch out one of #Megan's #eggs last night too. Underneath Brava, with its feet out first, another #chick is hatching!

I completely forgot about Brava's eggs and... voilà ! The first chick is hatched.

It must have been one of these 3 magpie #chicks that #Megan had a fight with this morning. This was filmed 10 days ago, so today's magpie was a fair bit bigger but still couldn't fly properly. It did manage to half fly, half run towards these shrubs, fleeing from Megan.

I literally just saw #Megan (white) attacking a #baby/toddler #magpie!! 🙈 I wonder that's in revenge because the parent magpies stole her eggs, which we now have relocated to a less visible site.

After a short #break outside for #eating, #drinking, #dirt-bathing & hanging out with #Icarus, her #rooster, Brava dutifully returned to her #eggs, #puffed up and #protectively #settled on her eggs.
