I'd go even farther than "not that harsh" & say not remotely harsh. This article, which incidentally I would never have seen if it hadn't become news itself, is just stating that people have been critical & there are different views. Beyond pathetic that she wanted it silenced.

YA readers deserve better. We need a group of LGBTQ+ authors to write a better telling of the Chosen One wizard story where the protag is trans, over half the cast belongs to the LGBTQ+ community, and the writing is leagues better than what she created.

To be fair, the bar is pretty low.
