  2. We launched Plus to ensure the communities hit hardest by COVID are at the forefront of our vaccination efforts. It's working. In recent weeks, over half of our vaccine doses have gone into the arms of Black and Latinx residents.

  6. We continued our equitable COVID-19 vaccine distribution yesterday by opening a temporary clinic in Austin, in partnership with . Ensuring our most vulnerable residents get vaxxed is our greatest defense against the virus.

  12. One year ago today, our city went into lockdown under the statewide Stay-at-Home order. At the time, we didn't know a lot about COVID-19. But what we did know is that it was spreading quickly and it was deadly.

  17. Early in the vaccine rollout, only 18% of COVID-19 vaccines were going to Black or Latinx Chicagoans. Now, data from the most recent week shows that 55% of first doses went to Black or Latinx Chicagoans.

  20. Earlier today, a officer was shot in the hand while responding to gunfire in Austin. Her injury is a reminder of the risk our first responders take to keep our communities safe. Amy and I are relieved she is in good condition and wish her a speedy recovery.
