First up: Now’s the perfect time to learn more about the thing that might change the future: artificial intelligence. A tough topic that @JanelleCShane handles with clarity and a big portion of hilarityhttps://www.chemistryworld.com/review/you-look-like-a-thing-and-i-love-you-how-artificial-intelligence-works-and-why-its-making-the-world-a-weirder-place/4011007.article …

2/ We could all use a good reason to laugh today, so maybe it's time for silly scientific thought experiments, like what would happen if you tried to make a periodic table out of actual element samples - all that and much more in Randall Monroe's What If?https://www.chemistryworld.com/culture/what-if-serious-scientific-answers-to-absurd-hypothetical-questions/7980.article …

3/ Speaking of elements, particularly those that go ‘poof’ in a blink of an eye: @ChemistryKit’s book on the far reaches of the periodic table is always worth a read (and if you look closely, you might see some CW names in the acknowledgements!)https://www.chemistryworld.com/review/superheavy-making-and-breaking-the-periodic-table/3010546.article …

6/ If you’re not one for the realistic stuff, how about some scientific fiction? Real-life engineer @erskine_fiona’s book is an explosive mix of action and science. Replying to @ChemistryWorld @JanelleCShane

Its an expensive endeavour to build a physical periodic table with all the known elements, as some are rare, hard to display, radioactive, gases, liquids, reactive, corrosive People have done this // there are collections // some that the public can access with a road trip too
