That's a really good point Peter. It seems few lessons have been learnt from the Cold War arms race.. The Soviet Union bankrupting herself in pursuit of military and space equilibrium

Indeed. I think a degree of U.S foreign policy has remained fixated on denying other states Nuclear capability. Economic integration breeds mutual interest and a 'reason' not to pursue military expansion.

New York State’s economy is roughly the size of Mexico’s economy, half the size of India’s economy, 2/3 the size of Canada’s economy, slightly larger than Hong Kong & Singapore and Malaysia combined, almost on par with Spain, larger than Belgium&Sweden combined!
-
The only other states with an economy greater than New York are Texas and California. The economies of Texas and Russia are about equal with Russia in 12th place and Texas economy slightly greater.
-
Both Texas and Russia have an economy that is larger than Mexico’s economy. Mexico ranks 15th globally. For “full disclosure purposes” El Salvador’s economy ranks 153rd but it received a 4 billion dollar aid package from the USA on 2015 or 2014.
-
El Salvador outputs around 27 billion a year and receives 16 billion as a nation from family members in the USA sending money back home. Some of thes people sending money work in fast food restuarants, factories and warehouses.
-
The UK ranks 5th after USA, China, Japan and Germany since I’m currently living here.
-
Correction. El Salvador ranks 100th globally.
-
Also, when North Korea says it can hit the USA with nukes it means USA bases on Phillipine soil since that is it’s only dedicated ally in the Asian seas. Business “connections” in Hong Kong and Singapore are generally money oriented and wars are costly expenditures.
