Would that have resolved the Falklands dispute with Argentina or most other wars?

The body count over the Falklands wasn't worth it to either side.
-
I tend to agree with you although, if you or your interests are attacked do you pit your hands up and accept the consequences?
-
Trying to defuse the situation by reasonable other means often works better than reacting with anger. Always worth a shot.
-
I agree with you unfortunately, if your country is bombed and being invaded by troops without warning, time to negotiate is at best limited.
-
Iraq, Libya, Syria, Afghanistan etc were never invading Britain .
-
Iraq I don't agree with Libya I don't Syria I do we need to beat isis Afghanistan I agree with we need to beat the Taliban help those people
-
We don't need to ''help'' them, they will come to a solution without the the ''help'' of the West whose motives are IMO dubious at best

Ultimately defence is about deterring or destroying an enemy.
@jeremycorbyn is delusional on defense. 80000 troops isn't enough.#Labour -
It was the Tories who fired 21,000 armed forces personnel with their cuts. Labour committed to 2% of GDP spending on military.
