There are rich pickings in getting free trade agreements in Latin America once the UK leaves the EU. To date, the volume of UK trade with Latin America has been puny, we want more, we are ambitious - Sir @AlanDuncanMP speaking from Latin America Conference this morning. #CHLatAmpic.twitter.com/zWvZKNOfrD

The EU already has, or is negotiating, FTAs with nearly all of Latin America. The EU will ALWAYS get a better FTA than the UK. The best deal for Britain is to remain in the EU.pic.twitter.com/MtNTX0Y4z3

If trade volumes are low, could that simply mean UK has not much to sell to these countries? What do you think the UK will trade after brexit with Latin America that it couldn't trade now?

Are you aware of how many years trade agreements take to put together? Are you also aware that volume of trade typically decreases with geographical distance? You’re proposing ditching trade agreements with our closest neighbours in the hope of maybe trading with SA? For real?

Utter cobblers. We are an equal partner in the EU trade deals. How much clout do you imagine we have as a small country that’s currently scaring away businesses and investors with Brexit madness?

Brexit is torpedoing our economy or have you not heard about the exodus of businesses or prominent Brexiteer Mr Dylan deciding to build his electric cars in Singapore rather than UK so that he may trade with EU. EU and Singapore just signed a trade deal, you know.

Brexit is not torpedoing anything. Brexit hasn't been defined. You're referring to an EU prolonged, uncertainty. It's not an 'exodus'; he's not leaving, it's a new plant and if you're reasoning was correct the plant would be in the EU. Utterly bizarre that you would suggest it.

Dyson has already said the plant is going to be in Singapore for easier access to the Asian market - naff all to do with Brexit!

There might be a reasons why trade is low with South America but I don’t think a significant one is EU Membership. I have not noticed any issues trading with China. What areas of trade are going to benefit? Are there any papers I could read from HMG that give more details?
