Much appreciated recommendation. Excited bookworm over here. You are right on your odds about the Spanish, but because I’m from Panama, luckily surrounded by Spanish in SA, so I maintain it! I’ll buy the bilingual version of one of these works today!
Going to be a challenge. Tried reading some Cortazar in the original Spanish and had trouble with his poetics, but I also think I invited the difficulty by choosing a non-linear, very ethereal, post-modern text! Looking forward to difficult practice.
Oh I recommend Lazarillo in English (at least for first reading)… 16th c Castillian is no breeze…

Reading anything 16th c aint easy, even if en inglés. But several decent translations, and that way v accessible!
