Why should anybody ever have to give up their seat so employees of the airline can take it? Airline's problem, not the passenger's.

Crews must have a certain amt of time off/at home/rested before they can fly again and also comes down to paying them.

It is still the airlines problem to solve, not the passengers. If they can't organise rosters, then they should get out of the business.

You're absolutely right. They know this. They know about having to move deadhead crews. They have everything they need to craft a solution
